Differential pinion Volvo PV 444 ENV

Oil drips on the rear end or grease seeping out around the pinion flange is a common wear point on the ENV hypoid axle that the 444 received after the switch from Spicer in 1949. A tired pinion seal lets oil past from the differential housing and should be checked before the oil level drops and the bearings run dry.

This group covers seals and gaskets for the differential and pinion, bearings and bearing races, adjusting shims for the correct preload, plus the nut, plug and grease that belong to the same job. When rebuilding the rear axle, the pinion bearing, bearing race and flange nut are typical inspection points – new adjusting shims are often required to restore the bearing preload after the seal has been replaced.

The parts are gathered specifically for the ENV version of the 444, so check which rear axle the car has before ordering.
