Oil drops around the pinion flange and a greasy spot under the rear end are the classic signs of a tired pinion seal in the Spicer rear axle. The group includes oil seals and gaskets for the pinion and differential cover, bearings, shims for setting the gear backlash, washers, grease, inspection cover and a sealing plug. When replacing a seal it is worth checking the pinion bearing preload and the tooth contact pattern at the same time – new shims are often needed to get the right clearance after the flange nut has been loosened.
The parts are intended for the Spicer version and differ from the later ENV hypoid axle, so check which rear axle the car actually has before ordering.
