The group includes a camshaft kit and timing gear set for the cam drive, inlet valves and exhaust valves, valve guides and washers, plus push rods and a thrust flange. During an overhaul a typical check point is to measure the valve guide clearance and the cam lobe wear before the cylinder head is assembled – worn guides and worn lobes often go hand in hand and affect both oil consumption and cold starting.
