The group includes the camshaft kit and cam gear set to restore lift height and valve timing, intake and exhaust valves, valve guides, plus pushrods and thrust flange. Washers are among the small parts needed during assembly.
When reconditioning the cylinder head, the play in the valve guides and the sealing of the valve seats are typical points to check – if you replace the valves, the guides should be checked at the same time so the new valves sit straight and seal against the seat. A worn cam gear and tired pushrods often show up as a ticking noise and a wavering idle.
