Rear light Volvo PV 444 (1947-53)
A cracked lamp glass and hard, shrunken rubber seals are classic wear points on a 444 – moisture works its way into the light, the glass fogs up, and the contacts start to oxidize. On the early 1947-53 model years, the rear lighting also runs on the original 6-volt system, and the electrical system can differ between model years, so it is worth checking which version your car has and that the bulb voltage matches the car's electrical system before you replace anything.

This group includes bulbs, lamp glass, plus seals and gaskets for the rear lighting. While you have the light apart anyway, a typical check is to make sure the seal sits evenly against the body and that the glass is free of hairline cracks – two common causes of moisture and a poor light pattern. The fit follows the body version on the 444, so compare against your car when ordering.
