Hand brake Volvo PV 444
A hand brake lever that travels too far up or won't hold the car on a hill often points to stretched cables, tired return springs or worn bushings in the linkage. On the 444 the hand brake acts on the rear wheel drums, and over time corrosion and moving parts weaken the grip – a common checkpoint when overhauling the rear brake.
