Clamp handbrake cable for Volvo Duett, 1961-66, left

A hand brake that slips or needs many clicks before it bites often points to a stretched or binding hand brake cable, or to worn mounting parts in the linkage. On the 210 with B18 this is a recurring inspection point, especially on cars that have stood unused or been driven on winter roads where moisture has worked its way into the cable sleeve.

This category gathers hand brake parts for the 210, built 1960–1969 on the B18A with the M40 gearbox. The group includes the hand brake cable, the plastic eyelet hand brake lever, plus the gaiter and gaiter that protect the grommet, together with the clamp, cotter pin, washer and screw that hold the linkage in place. When restoring, it is worth replacing the cotter pin and clamp at the same time as the cable – old mounting parts rust solid easily and become hard to free without damaging the fitting.
Always check that the cable length and the eyelet design match your car's fitting before installation.
