Engine mountings B20 Volvo 140

Vibrations in the steering wheel and gear lever at idle, or an engine sinking at an angle toward the frame, can point to tired motor mounts where the rubber has cracked or collapsed. It's a common inspection point on the 122 with the B20 engine, which arrived in August 1968 for the model's last two years.

This group includes motor mounts plus the associated washers, screws and lock nuts for the mounting. Keep in mind that the height of the rubber and the placement of the mounting bolts govern how the engine sits against the cross member – measure and compare against the original mounting before installation so the exhaust system and fan position end up correct. A worn mounting in turn wears on the gearbox's rear anchorage, so it's worth checking the whole chain during the same job.
