Temperature gauge for Volvo PV, Duett, Amazon

A speedometer needle that jumps or squeals can point to a dry or frayed cable, and dark instrument lighting should be checked for blown bulbs or a loose clamp. This category gathers the wear parts around the instruments on the 122 with the B18 engine (1,778 cc, from August 1961), so the gauge reading can become steady again.

The group includes the speedometer cable and gear that govern the ratio to the gearbox, along with bulbs for the instrument lighting. The mounting hardware covers screw, nut, washer, clamp and grommets that keep the cable correctly routed through the cowl without sharp bends. For joints and mounts, the clamp and grommet are common checkpoints – a cable that rubs against edges or is pulled too tightly wears quickly and can give an uneven reading.
Since the 122 shares much of its gauge technology with contemporary 12-volt cars, the gear ratio to the correct rear axle is a suitable checkpoint before replacement.
