Volvo 240/260 Propeller shaft
Vibrations that increase with speed and a metallic rattle under throttle often come from worn U-joints or a tired center support bearing on the propeller shaft. On the 240/260 several versions exist, and the dimension determines what fits – the slimmer 44.5 mm shaft shared with the earlier design differs from the heavier type 1310 (50.8 mm), and the shafts are further divided into several type variants.
