Important Information

Several different propeller shaft types were used on the Volvo 240 and 740. Always verify the propeller shaft type before ordering.

Volvo 200 Series (up to 1984)

• Type 1140 – 44.5 mm shaft diameter (this part)
• Type 1310 – 50.8 mm shaft diameter

Volvo 200 Series (1985 onwards)

Type 03 propeller shafts may be fitted with two different universal joints. Measure the universal joint width before ordering.

Volvo 700 Series

Three propeller shaft types were used:

• Type 02 – 44.5 mm shaft diameter (this part)
• Type 03 – 50.8 mm shaft diameter
• Type 13 – identified by measuring the centre-to-centre distance between the middle universal joints:
  • Type 13: 208 mm
  • Type 03: 106 mm

This part fits front and centre universal joints only on Volvo 200 models with type 1140 propeller shafts and Volvo 700 models with type 02 propeller shafts.
