Sporadic electrical faults, a function that clicks and goes silent or lighting that fails irregularly can point to a tired cabin relay or loose contacts. The relays are grouped together in the cabin and control a range of functions – not least a worn light relay can cause irregular lighting. Over the years, solder joints and contact pins become a common inspection point on 240/260 of the 1979-84 model.
