Exhaust system Volvo 1800 (1966-69)

Rusted-through exhaust pipes, blown clamps and worn-out rubber retainers that let the pipe knock against the floor are among the most common reasons to replace the exhaust system on an 1800 from 1966-69. On these B18 cars (115 hp SAE from 1966) the parts are often seized in place, so a complete overhaul pays off more often than patching in stages.

The selection covers exhaust pipes and tailpipes as well as clamps and retainers that hold the system in place, plus mounting hardware such as nut, screw and washer. When restoring, it is wise to replace the mounting rubbers and clamps at the same time as the pipes – otherwise old retainers cause vibrations and cracking at the welded joints. Also check the seating at the manifold flange, since warped flanges and worn nuts are a recurring leak point on these models.
