Volvo 1800 Fuel tank/Fuel system
Rusty fuel tanks, a cracked vent hose and a fuel pump that no longer holds pressure are classic problems on an 1800 that has been sitting still. Major differences are governed by engine and model year: the carburetor cars (B18 and early B20B up to 1969) use a mechanical fuel pump, while the 1800E/ES from 1970 has Bosch D-Jetronic electronic injection – completely different pumps, tank senders and system parts.
