Front suspension Volvo 164
A clunk over bumps, sloppy steering or uneven tire wear are typical signs that the ball joints and bushings in the 164's front suspension are worn out. With the classic double control arm (wishbone) design, the wear usually sits in the joint points and rubber bushings, and since the 164 has often been driven hard it shows up as play in the steering wheel.
