A bouncy front end, clunking over bumps and a car that dives under braking can point to tired telescopic shock absorbers and worn-out coil springs. The 544 and 445 were built with independent front suspension using coil springs and telescopic Delco shock absorbers, and after decades the rubber bushings and mounts are often as worn as the shock absorber itself.
