The group includes main bearing sets and rod bearing sets to restore bearing clearance against the main and rod journals, piston sets and piston ring sets once the cylinder bores have been measured and possibly bored oversize, plus a cam gear set for valve timing. The complete picture also includes a screw for mounting, a seal that keeps the crankshaft end from oil leakage, and a protecting plate.
A common check point on this job is to measure the bearing journals and select the correct undersize on the bearing kits before assembly – and to always replace the crankshaft seal at the same time, since it is hard to reach once everything is in place. Keep in mind that piston and bearing sets come in several dimensions depending on wear.
