Flasher Volvo 444/445 (1947-56)

Dim or flickering turn signals on an early 544 are often not down to bad bulbs but to oxidised contact surfaces and brittle seals. On the 444/445 from 1947-56 the electrical system runs on 6 volts, which makes the correct bulb and a clean ground especially important – the wrong voltage or a poor spring washer gives a weak or flickering light.

This category gathers wear parts for the turn signal fixture: bulbs matched to the 6V system, often with a BA9s base, seals that keep moisture away from the lamp housing, plus spring washers and screws to hold the contact and mounting in place. During an overhaul, a brittle seal, a corroded bulb socket and tired spring washers are typical checkpoints. Since the design differs between early and late 544 model years, the voltage and base should be checked against the car before parts are selected.
