License Light Volvo Amazon (B16)

A dark license plate or a light that flickers irregularly usually points to a corroded base, a loose mounting nut or a burned-out bulb - all three common things to check on the 122 with B16 engine. This category gathers the small parts around the license plate light and frames them as a group rather than as individual items.

The group includes bulbs, mounting nuts and lock washers that hold the lamp body in place and secure a stable ground. One thing to keep an eye on: the B16 cars ran on a 6-volt system (Volvo did not switch to 12 volts until August 1961, together with the B18), so the bulb's voltage should be checked before installation. A lock washer that has lost its tension often gives poor contact and a flickering glow - cheap to replace at the same time as the bulb.
