Cracked turn signal glass, sluggish operation and corroded contacts are common checkpoints on a 122 with the B16 engine. Since the B16 cars ran on the 6-volt system right up until the switch to 12 volts in August 1961, it is worth checking that bulbs and the turn signal relay match the correct voltage – the wrong bulb or relay often causes flashing that is too fast or absent altogether.
