Rust in the floor breaks out where moisture collects – at the sills, under the mats and around the cross members that support the seat mounts and seat belts. On a 122 it often shows up first as bubbles in the inner sill before the panel gives way, and then both a new floor panel and sound members are needed for the body to keep its rigidity.

This group includes floor panel and economy panel, cross member and member, inner sill and rear section – the load-bearing parts that are welded in during a floor restoration. There is also a bumper bracket plus weld primer and primer to rust-protect new and old material right after welding.
Always measure up the seat belt mounting points before you cut away the old panel – they are anchored in the cross members and must sit correctly when the new floor is fitted in.
