The group includes camshaft kits and cam gear sets, intake and exhaust valves, valve guides as well as washers, push rods and complete valve sets. Since the B20E/F is a pushrod engine, power runs from the camshaft via push rods up to the rocker arms, which means wear in the chain sprocket and push rods shows up as increased valve clearance and knocking noise.
During a valve overhaul, lapping the intake and exhaust valves against the seats, checking valve guide play and replacing the cam gear set are typical inspection points. Replacing the parts together gives more even compression across all four cylinders and steadier running after assembly.
