Temp warning system Volvo 240 (F(J) (-1984)

A temperature warning lamp that glows faintly, flashes or fails to light at ignition should not be read straight away as an overheated motor – often the fault is in the warning circuit itself. On early 240 up to 1984 (F(J) version) the function sits in the instrument panel, and a tired bulb, poor contact in the bulb socket or an aged diode are common check points before the sensor is suspected.

This category gathers parts for the small but important warning circuit: control lamp and bulb, bulb socket, diodes, clamp, nipple and screw for mounting behind the instrument panel. Because the 240 received updated instrumentation at later facelifts, production year and version govern which details fit – so check the chassis and model year against the existing panel.
