During restoration the hood lock and its spring are a typical checkpoint – a stiff or sloppy lock can make the hood bounce or fail to fully engage. Wave washers and the correct washers belong here so the bolted joints stay put without vibrating loose, and new rubber seals reduce squeaks and moisture under the hood.
Since the 240/260 received a facelift during its production years, the design and placement of the mounts can differ between early and later model years – check against your car before replacing.
