Rust at the lower edge of the door and sagging doors with worn hinge split pins are among the most common jobs on an 1800. When the lower edge has become porous or the door scrapes against the sill when closing, door panel and repair panel are what's needed, often combined with a new rubber seal that seals against water and draught.

This group includes door panel and repair panel for rust repair, hinges with split pins and brackets for hanging, rubber seals for sealing, plus screw, rivet and tag washer for fitting. Since the 1800 was built in several versions from the Jensen years and on through the 1800S, 1800E and 1800ES, details differ between early and late cars.
A classic check point is the hinge split pin: if it's worn out the door drops and the latch bolt strikes incorrectly. Replace the split pins before adjusting the door position, otherwise the setting will drift back.
