Exhaust system Volvo 940/960 (B200/B230 turbo)
Rusted-through rear silencers, leaking flange joints and a noise that increases with engine speed are classic signs that the exhaust system on a turbocharged 940 or 960 is starting to wear out. On the B200 and B230 turbo motors, the pipes and flanges also run hotter than on the naturally aspirated motors, which wears down gaskets and seized studs faster – something that should be checked every time you go over the underside of the car.

This group includes exhaust kits for a complete replacement as well as the parts around the joints: clamps and hangers that hold up and dampen the system, studs and lock nuts for the flanges, copper washers and seal rings for tight joints, plus plugs. Keep in mind that flange gaskets and studs often tend to break during removal – take the opportunity to renew them while you have the system down anyway.
