An increasing power loss, sooty exhaust or uneven gas response on a B204 turbo can point to a clogged air filter and should be checked early – a sluggish intake strains the turbo unnecessarily. On the turbo engine, the seal between the filter housing and intake is at least as important as the filter itself, since false air past a brittle O-ring or a worn rubber bushing disturbs the air mass measurement.
