Pressure hose for Volvo 760, 940

Servo leaks at the rack and play in the mountings are among the most common reasons to take apart the steering on an early 740/760. On the four-cylinder cars from 1985–87 the rack-and-pinion steering is held in place with attaching arms and bolted joints, where the copper washers and seals in particular are often the source of oil traces.

This category gathers the smaller parts around the steering rack servo itself: attaching arms, hexagon screws and standard screws, copper washers, rubber clamps, hose, spacer sleeves and washers. These are the details you need when sealing a servo leak or refitting the rack after a rebuild.
For that job, typical inspection points are the soft rubber clamps that hold the hoses and the copper washers in the banjo couplings – it's better to replace them straight away than to risk a new leak after refitting. Also check that the correct spacer sleeves and attaching arms are used against the body.
