Fogging and moisture behind the glass, a bulb that goes out intermittently, or corroded contacts in the bulb socket are common checkpoints on the taillights of a 740/760 from the 1990 model year. Often it is the aged gasket between the light and the sheet metal that should be checked first, since water ingress both attacks the bulb socket and can cause intermittent faults.
