Rear light Volvo 740/760 (US) (-1987)

A dead rear light part or flickering light on US models of the 740/760 can point to a circuit board with oxidized conductor tracks or a tired bulb socket rather than just a burned-out bulb – both are common checkpoints when the rear light starts acting up. The US version's rear light panel differs from other markets, so the socket and board don't always sit identically against a later version.

This group includes circuit boards, bulbs, bulb sockets, number plate illumination and a fin. Because the design changes at 1987, the chassis and model year are decisive for the board and socket to fit in the panel without trouble. Check the contact surfaces and ground when a light fades – often it's play in the socket or a crack in the board's track behind it.
