Brake lines Volvo 700 with ABS (1988-91) (Turbo/diesel)

Rust-attacked brake pipes along the frame and cracked rubber hoses at the wheels are common inspection points on the heavier 700 cars with ABS, turbo or diesel from 1988-91. When the brake pipe begins to flake or the pedal feels spongy, the entire line routing should be followed from master cylinder to the calipers.

The group includes brake pipes, brake hose sets, union nipples, clamps, fasteners, rubber bushings as well as anchorages and retainers that hold the lines in place against the body and control arms. During a rebuild it is worth replacing the clamps and rubber bushings at the same time as the pipes - worn mounts let the pipe rub and vibrate, which accelerates rust right where it sits hidden.

The parts are focused on the 700 series with ABS from 1988 onward; on these later cars the brakes are bled in the order rear right, rear left, front right, front left, unlike the earlier ABS cars.
