The group includes pistons, piston ring sets, rod bearings and main bearing sets along with seals, support plate, timing belt gear and lock rings. Bearing sets are normally available in several undersizes, so when rebuilding you should measure the crankshaft journals and any regrind before choosing the correct set – otherwise you risk the wrong clearance and new knocking.
While the engine block is open anyway, it is worth replacing the seals and checking the timing belt gear teeth at the same time, so that the whole crank assembly stays sealed and runs evenly after reassembly.
