The group includes panels and lids that cover holes and storage compartments, an ashtray to replace worn originals, plus vent housings for the fresh-air and defroster jets. For the mounting itself there are fasteners, screws and cross recessed screws that hold the panels taut, plus a steering column cover around the steering shaft. During a restoration a typical check point is precisely the fasteners behind the panels – once they become brittle the panel comes loose at the edges and starts to squeak against the lower edge of the windshield.
