Heater core Volvo 240/260 without A/C (-1991)
A sweet coolant smell in the cabin, fogged-up windows and an oily film on the inside of the windshield are the classic signs that the heater core has begun to leak. On 240/260 without A/C the heater core is built into the heater housing, and when the tubes start to corrode or leak at the joints it is time to replace the whole core rather than patch it.

This category gathers the parts for exactly that job on cars up to and including 1991: new heater cores, heat hose and the repair kits, fasteners, retainers, screws, tooth washers and cable lugs needed when the housing is opened. During replacement the hose joints and the core's inlet and outlet are typical checkpoints – dry, cracked hoses should be replaced at the same time so the next leak doesn't appear right after reassembly. Since the design differs between cars with and without A/C, this group is limited to the variant without air conditioning.
