Fluid leaks at the steering box connections and oily drips under the front axle are classic signs of tired seals and dried-out copper washers on the early V6 cars. This category gathers the small parts and sealing details belonging to the power steering box on the Volvo 240/260 with six-cylinder engine from 1976 to 1985.

The group includes hollow screws, copper washers, hexagon screws, cross recessed screws, washers and nuts as well as hoses that tie the power steering system to the steering box. It is precisely the copper washers and hollow screws that often make themselves known – with every removal of a hydraulic connection the copper washers should be replaced with new ones to avoid renewed leakage, and hoses with cracked ends are a recurring check point during restoration.
The 240/260 series received a completely new front axle with MacPherson struts compared to its predecessor, which makes the right parts for the power steering important when working on the steering gear.
