Flashers Volvo 140/164 (1967-75)

Turn signals that won't reset after a turn, or a lever that feels sluggish and has play, usually point to worn contacts in the steering column switch at the steering shaft. On the 140 and 164 these levers sit on the collapsible steering shaft, and the return mechanism itself is a common check point when the turn signal function becomes erratic.
