Air filter Volvo PV/Duett (B16A)
Cracked rubber plates and loose hose clamps at the air filter are a common inspection point on the B16A engine (1583cc), fitted in the 444 from 1957 and in the early 544. If the mounting sits loose, false air can affect the mixture on both the Zenith and twin-SU versions, so gaskets and lock nuts should be reviewed during a rebuild.
