Steering track/Tie-rod Volvo Amazon (B18)
Play in the steering wheel, uneven tire wear or a car that wanders on a straight stretch can point to worn tie rod ends and worn-out gear linkage boots – classic check points on a 122 with B18 and a ball-bearing front end. Since the steering box is of the worm/ball type and is adjusted with SAE 80 hypoid oil, it pays to check the play in the joints before touching the box itself.
