Corroded fuses and loose contacts in the fusebox are a known weak point on the 122 – on the 12-volt cars with B18 and B20, the fuse holders are a common check point for electrical faults such as flickering lighting or dead circuits. A monthly inspection of the box is recommended, as oxide on the fuse ends and loosely screwed connections easily create voltage drops.
