Plastic Trim Moulding Clips – Volvo Amazon, 140, 164, 240

Plastic clips for mounting trim mouldings on several classic Volvo models. On the Volvo 240, the clips are only used for the narrow stainless steel trim moulding.

Fits the following models

• Volvo Amazon, 1969–
• Volvo 140
• Volvo 164
• Volvo 240 – only for the narrow stainless steel trim moulding

Dimensions

• Clip: 12.8 × 7.7 mm
• Locking pin: Ø 4.4 mm

Installation

1. Insert the plastic clip into the hole.
2. Carefully tap in the locking pin.
3. Then press the trim moulding onto the clip.

Good to know when installing

The plastic clips need to retain a certain amount of moisture to prevent them from cracking during installation. Keep them in a tightly sealed package until they are ready to be used.

If the clips have dried out, their moisture can be restored by placing them in boiling water for approximately 4 minutes before installation.

This is according to a Volvo workshop bulletin from January 1969.

Volvo Amazon 1969–:

• Approximately 23–28 clips per car
• The quantity may vary depending on whether the car is a 2-door, 4-door or estate, and which trim mouldings are being installed.
