Important Installation Information
This piston ring set is +0.020" oversize and should only be used in B18 engines that have been bored and honed to this size. Always check the cylinder bore before ordering.
When replacing piston rings, the cylinders should be honed to provide the correct surface for the new rings to bed in properly. If the cylinders are not honed, poor sealing and reduced compression may result.
After installation, the engine should be run in carefully. Avoid high RPM and heavy loads immediately after replacing the piston rings. A good starting procedure is to run the engine at an increased idle speed of approximately 1,500 RPM for 30–60 minutes, followed by a careful running-in period.
