The group includes seal rings, lock rings, spacers, springs and disc springs, axles, screws and gearbox mounts. During a rebuild it is wise to check the gearbox mount at the same time as the seals – a tired rubber cushion can let the gearbox move so that the sealing lips wear unevenly and start to weep oil again shortly after a replacement. Spacers and lock rings determine the axial play at assembly and should be matched to the type fitted in the car.
