Brake Backing Plates
Rusty and bent splash plates behind the brake disc are a common inspection point during restoration, especially since every 940/960 runs four-wheel disc brakes and the plate is exposed to road grime, salt and brake dust. A warped splash guard can rub against the disc and cause a scraping noise, so the condition of the plate should be checked at every brake service.
