Front shock absorbers for Volvo 240, 245 Bilstein (B6)

A sagging front end, uneven ride height or a clonk over speed bumps are classic signs of tired front springs and worn bushings. With the 240/260 series' MacPherson design, the spring sits around the shock absorber front, so the spring, shock absorber and rubber stop work closely together – when you replace one, it usually pays to look over the rest at the same time.

This group includes front springs in various stiffness ratings, shock absorbers, lowering kit, rubber stops, bushings and an anti-roll bar kit with clamp and washer. When renovating the front end, the bushings and the anti-roll bar mounting are typical inspection points – polyurethane bushings give a tighter feel, while performance-type shock absorbers are clearly noticeable in cornering and braking. Always measure the free ride height against original before choosing a spring, so the car sits level and the spring travel is correct.
