Gearbox Volvo 240 (M41 Manual)

Oil mist under the car and moisture around the box can point to a tired gasket or a dried-out sealing surface on the manual M41 box in the Volvo 240. That is exactly why gaskets and gasket sets are typical checkpoints when the box is opened or side covers are removed.

This group includes sealing and mounting parts such as gasket, gasket set, speedometer gear, screw, hex. socket screw, nut, spring washer and spring ring. The parts belong to the M41 in the 240 series, which builds on the four-speed box with overdrive. A worn speedometer gear is a common cause of a jumpy or dead speedometer and should be checked at service. Since model year and version determine what fits, it is wise to compare against the existing box before ordering.
