A rough idle, misfires in damp weather or a sluggish cold start often begin on the ignition side. The distributor cap and rotor arm are classic wear points – cracked caps, burnt contacts and an oxidized carbon brush cause spark flashover and broken combustion, especially on a B20F that has covered many miles.

This group includes the distributor cap, rotor arm, spark plugs and ignition cable set, plus smaller parts such as O-Ring, hose, screw and ballast resistor. The parts cover the ignition system on the Volvo 240 with the B20F engine and are gathered here as a category, not as individual items.
During an overhaul, a natural approach is to replace the cap, arm, plugs and cables in one go – that way you rule out several sources of fault at once and get a clean spark again. Also check the O-Rings and sealing hoses for leakage and moisture, and inspect the ballast resistor if the cold start has been troublesome.
