Camshaft A-Cam for Volvo B18/B20, OE 275761

Camshaft with A profile for Volvo B18 and B20. The A cam was originally fitted to B18A, B20A and B18D 90 hp and is used as the standard cam for B18/B20 engines with the original single carburettor.

Corresponds to Volvo's A profile and is suitable when overhauling or replacing the camshaft where the original cam profile is to be retained.

Camshaft for Volvo B18 and B20 with A profile. The camshaft corresponds to Volvo's original A cam and was factory-fitted to B18A and B20A engines with a single carburettor.

This is an excellent choice if you want to retain the engine's original character or replace a worn original camshaft with a camshaft that follows Volvo's original specifications.

Important when fitting

When replacing the camshaft, new tappets must always be fitted. The camshaft and tappets must be lubricated with running-in paste (molybdenum disulphide grease) before the first start.

For best durability, engine oil with zinc additive is recommended during the running-in period.

The warranty only applies if new tappets are purchased and fitted at the same time.

The camshaft nut must be tightened to a maximum of 80 Nm and it is recommended to secure it with Loctite.

Tips for camshaft replacement

To replace the camshaft, the following components need to be removed:

• Cylinder head
• Timing cover
• Timing gear
• Fuel pump on carburettor engines

The engine does not need to be lifted out of the car. After removing the radiator, the camshaft can be replaced directly in the car on Volvo PV, Duett, Amazon, P1800, 140, 164 and 240.

When the timing cover is removed, the sump gasket is often damaged at the front edge. We therefore recommend replacing the sump gasket at the same time, part number 418262.

Also take the opportunity to upgrade to a timing cover with a radial shaft seal, part number 418693.

Also check the camshaft bearings in the engine block. The front bearing is usually the most exposed to wear and can be replaced without lifting the engine out of the car.
