Camshaft kit for Volvo B18, B20, R-cam

Camshaft kit with R profile for Volvo B18 and B20 for those who want a substantial power increase. The R profile gives a strong top-end and a distinctly race-oriented character. The tight lobe separation angle gives large valve overlap, which is noticeable in both the sound and the power high in the rev range. Installation

The R profile requires at least a stage 2 cylinder head with twin 45 carburettors to work as intended. Check that the engine meets this before ordering. Lubricate the camshaft and lifters with running-in paste (molybdenum disulphide grease) before first start. A new camshaft run in against worn lifters wears out quickly, which is why new valve lifters are included in the kit. Tighten the camshaft nut to 80 Nm and secure it with a folding washer or thread lock. Use oil with a zinc additive during running-in and operation, it protects the lobes and lifters against wear. Check the valve springs, camshaft bearings and timing gear set while the engine is apart anyway.
