A hard, sluggish brake pedal or slowly falling vacuum can point to a leaking vacuum hose or a non-return valve that won't hold – both are common check points when the brake servo on the 740 no longer gets stable vacuum. This category gathers the vacuum parts for 4-cylinder 740 of model year 1988-89.

The group includes the vacuum pump, hose and pipe, non-return valve and the mount that secures the system, complemented by small wear parts such as washer, flange screw and rubber cap. During a rebuild it pays to check the hose ends and the non-return valve seal at the same time, since a brittle rubber cap or a cracked hose often produces the same symptoms as a tired pump. Always check fitment against model year and engine version before replacing.
