Important fitting information

When replacing piston rings, the cylinders should be honed so that the new rings have the correct surface to work against and can bed in properly. If the cylinders are not honed, there is a risk of poorer sealing and compression.

After fitting, the engine should be run in carefully. Avoid high revs and heavy loads immediately after the ring change. A good start is to let the engine run at an elevated idle, approx. 1 500 rpm for 30–60 minutes, and then run the engine in gently.
